Invisible appliances

invisible appliance"Invisible braces" are a series of clear, customized, removable appliances called aligners. They aren’t only invisible, but they also are removable so they won’t trap food and plaque between the teeth like fixed braces. Each aligner has to be changed every 2 weeks and has to be removed only for eating, brushing and flossing.

There are different types of aligners, the most known type is the Invisalign aligner, made in USA.

However, since clear aligners are removable, they may require more motivation and self-discipline to wear consistently, and they are easier to misplace or lose. Lost clear aligners may result in treatment delay and additional replacement costs. While fairly comfortable, clear aligners can cause discomfort or mild pain, particularly at the beginning  when new aligners are placed and exert pressure on the teeth to move them. Clear aligners are available only from dentists or orthodontists manufacturer-certified and trained to offer them and dr. Ana Hauta is a certified Invisalign provider.

Another way to get an invisible threatment is to wear a lingual appliance, where the lingual fixed appliance is bonded on the lingual surface of the teeth (it is hidden behind the teeth).
